What Makes A Good Bathroom Refurbishment?
A bathroom refurbishment is not just a fitting job. Done properly, it involves coordinating plumbing, tiling, flooring, joinery, and decoration in the right sequence, with each trade’s work checked before the next begins.
Most people who have had a bad experience with a bathroom refit have dealt with the same problem: separate tradespeople booked independently, no one accountable for the overall result, and a job that took far longer and cost far more than expected.
We handle every trade ourselves. One team specifies it, one team installs it, and one company is responsible from start to finish.

How It Works
How A Bathroom Refurbishment Works, From First Call To Handover
STEP ONE
Site Visit And Initial Consultation
We visit the property, look at the existing bathroom, understand what you want to achieve, and confirm that a refurbishment is the right scope for your project. This happens before any design work or cost is discussed.
STEP TWO
Design and specification
Based on the site visit, we specify the new suite, fittings, and finishes, and produce a detailed scope of work. We work around your existing layout and services, and every decision is checked against what is already in place before anything is ordered.
STEP THREE
Fixed-price quote
We provide a single, itemised fixed-price quote covering every element of the refurbishment. No provisional sums, no “we’ll see how it goes.” If something changes during the build, we agree the cost with you before it is carried out.
STEP FOUR
Strip-Out
The existing suite, tiling, and floor finish are removed. We inspect the substrate and services before any new work begins. If anything needs attention before the fit-out starts, we flag it and agree the approach with you.
STEP FIVE
First Fix Adjustments
Where minor plumbing or electrical adjustments are needed to suit the new layout or specification, these are carried out at this stage. All work is inspected before the fit-out begins.
STEP SIX
Fit-out and finishing
The new suite is installed, tiling and flooring are completed, and the bathroom is decorated and snagged. We do not hand a bathroom over until every element is right.
What We Do
What Our Bathroom Refurbishment Service Includes
Full Bathroom Refurbishment
Complete strip-out of the existing suite and finishes, with a new bath or shower enclosure, toilet, basin, tiling, flooring, and decoration installed in the same or similar positions. We manage the entire project under one contract.
En-Suite Refurbishment
En-suites are compact and often awkward to work in. Fitting quality finishes in a small space, getting tile cuts right, and managing the plumbing neatly matters more, not less, because there is nowhere to hide poor workmanship. We apply the same standards to en-suites as to full bathrooms.
Bathroom Refurbishment Design
We help you choose a suite, tiles, and finishes that work together and suit the space, not just what looks good on a mood board. Proportion, grout lines, fixture height, and storage are all considered before anything is ordered.
Period And Character Property Bathrooms
Older homes often have uneven walls, awkward room shapes, and pipework in unexpected places. We have experience working in period properties and plan refurbishments accordingly, so the result looks deliberate rather than forced.
Shower Enclosure And Bath Replacement
Replacing a bath with a shower enclosure, or upgrading an existing shower, sits within a refurbishment scope when the drainage position and plumbing connections stay in the same location. Where drainage needs to move, we assess this at the site visit.
Bathroom Refurbishment As Part Of A Wider Project
A bathroom refurbishment that sits within a broader renovation or extension is more efficient when managed as one project. We carry out bathroom refurbishments as standalone commissions and as part of wider scopes, with the same team and the same standards across both.
Pricing and Budgets
How Much Does A Bathroom Refurbishment Cost?
How Much Does A Bathroom Refurbishment Cost?
The cost of a bathroom refurbishment depends on three things: the size of the room, the specification of the suite and materials, and whether any plumbing or electrical adjustments are needed alongside the fit-out.
A straightforward like-for-like refurbishment costs significantly less than one involving new tiling throughout, bespoke joinery, or a full layout change. The latter would typically become a renovation rather than a refurbishment.
We provide fixed-price quotes. What we quote is what you pay, unless you change the scope.

Honest advice
Bathroom Refurbishment Or Bathroom Renovation: Which Do You Need?
The two terms are often used interchangeably, but they describe different scopes and different budgets. It is worth being clear on which one fits your project before you start getting quotes.
- A bathroom refurbishment works within the existing structure. The suite, tiling, flooring, and finishes are replaced, but the layout and services stay in roughly the same positions. It is the right approach when the bathroom functions well but looks and feels dated. The results can be dramatic, and the cost and disruption is significantly lower than a full renovation.
- A bathroom renovation starts from the structure. The existing bathroom comes out entirely, the layout is reconsidered, and services are replaced or repositioned. It is the right approach when the layout itself is the problem, when plumbing or electrics are ageing, or when a structural change such as opening up the space or adding a wet room is part of the brief.
- We will tell you which category your project falls into at the first site visit. If a refurbishment will achieve what you are looking for, that is what we will recommend. We would rather give you honest advice at the start than oversell a renovation you do not need.
