What Makes Good Bathroom Fitters Different?

Most bathroom fitters will fit what you supply. Good bathroom fitters design, specify, and install the whole thing, and take responsibility for the result.

A bathroom fitting job involves more than placing a suite. Plumbing, electrics, waterproofing, tiling, and finishing all need to be coordinated in the right sequence, with each stage checked before the next begins. When those trades are booked separately by the homeowner, any delay or poor workmanship between them becomes the homeowner’s problem to resolve.

We are bathroom designers and fitters who handle every part of the job ourselves. One team, one contract, one standard from start to finish.

How It Works

How Our Bathroom Design And Fitting Service Works, From First Call To Handover

STEP ONE

Site Visit And Initial Consultation

We visit the property, look at the existing bathroom, understand what you want to achieve, and identify any constraints that will affect the design or budget. This happens before any design work or cost is discussed.

STEP TWO

Design and specification

Based on the site visit, we develop a layout, specify fittings, tiles, and finishes, and produce a detailed scope of work. Every decision is checked against what the existing structure and services will support before anything is ordered.

STEP THREE

Fixed-price quote

We provide a single, itemised fixed-price quote covering every element of the fitting. No provisional sums, no “we’ll see how it goes.” If something changes during the build, we agree the cost with you before it is carried out.

STEP FOUR

Building regulations and planning

The existing bathroom is cleared. We inspect the substrate, pipework, and electrical positions before any new work begins. If anything needs attention at this stage, we flag it and agree the approach with you.

STEP FIVE

Strip-out and first fix

Plumbing and electrical first fix work is completed and inspected. The new suite is positioned and connected. Each stage is signed off before the next begins.

STEP SIX

Fit-out and finishing

Tiling and flooring are completed, decoration is finished, and the bathroom is snagged. We do not hand a bathroom over until every element is right.

Case Study

New Build & Bathroom Installation, Bicester

As part of a full new build at Graven Hill, Bicester, we designed and installed a ground-floor wet room built for long-term accessibility. The brief called for a practical, comfortable space that would support independent living as the client ages, finished to the same standard as the rest of the home.

What We Do

What Our Bathroom Design And Fitting Service Includes

Bathroom Design And Fitting

We design and fit bathrooms around how you use them, not around what looks good in a showroom. Layout, storage, natural light, and the practical constraints of the room all feed into the design before a single fitting is specified or ordered.

Bath Installation

Whether you are replacing an existing bath or fitting one in a new position, we handle the full installation, including plumbing connections, panels, tiling, and finishing. All work is carried out by our own plumbers, not subcontractors.

Shower Installation And Fitting

From a simple shower enclosure replacement to a fully tiled walk-in shower with bespoke drainage, we carry out the full installation as part of our standard fitting package. Where drainage needs to be repositioned or a wet room created, we manage this as a structural project.

En-Suite Design And Fitting

En-suites are compact and often require careful planning to make the most of a limited space. We design and fit en-suites as part of the same in-house process, with the same attention to detail as a full family bathroom.

Tiling, Flooring, And Finishing

Tiling and flooring are included in our fitting package as standard, carried out by our own tilers and finished to the same standard as the rest of the installation. We do not sub this out and then walk away.

Full trade package

Plumbing, electrics, tiling, carpentry, flooring, and decoration. All in-house, all included in the fixed price, all managed by us. You do not need to find, book, or coordinate separate bathroom installers for each part of the job.

Pricing and Budgets

How Much Do Bathroom Fitters Cost?

The cost of bathroom design and fitting depends on three things: the size of the room, the specification of the suite and materials, and whether any layout changes or structural work are needed alongside the installation.

A straightforward fit in existing positions costs significantly less than one involving repositioned drainage, structural changes, or a wet room conversion.

How Much Does a Kitchen Refurbishment Cost?

The cost depends on two things: how much of the kitchen is changing, and the specification of materials and appliances you are working to.

Kitchen Improvements

From £5,000

New doors, worktops, handles, appliances, lighting – layout unchanged

Full refurbishment

From £12,000

New units, complete fit-out, tiling and flooring replaced, layout largely unchanged.

Every quote is based on a site visit. These are starting points, not fixed ranges – specification and room size affect cost significantly.

We provide fixed-price quotes. What we quote is what you pay, unless you change the scope.

Bathroom Fitters Or A Bathroom Renovation Company: What Do You Actually Need?

The two are not always the same thing, and understanding the difference helps you get the right team for the job.

  • Bathroom fitters handle the installation. Suite, tiling, flooring, and finishing. This is the right scope when the layout works, the services are in good condition, and the project is about replacing what is there with something better. This is what most people searching for bathroom fitters near them actually need.

  • A bathroom renovation company goes further. It takes on structural changes, replaces ageing services, reconfigures layouts, and manages the building regulations process. It is the right scope when the layout itself is the problem, when plumbing or electrics need replacing from scratch, or when a structural change is part of the brief.

  • We do both. If your project turns out to be more than a fitting job once we have seen it, we will tell you, explain why, and quote for the right scope. You will not find out mid-project that something has been missed.

Common Questions

Bathroom Fitting FAQs

How much do bathroom fitters charge?2026-07-17T09:06:22+00:00

Costs depend on the size of the room, the specification of the suite and materials, and whether the layout is changing. Standard bathroom fitting typically starts from £4,500. We provide a fixed-price quote after the initial site visit, so you know the full cost before any work begins.

What is included in a bathroom fitting?2026-07-17T09:07:26+00:00

Our bathroom fitting service includes design and specification, strip-out of the existing suite and finishes, plumbing and electrical first fix, installation of the new suite, tiling, flooring, and decoration. Every trade is carried out by our own team under one fixed-price contract.

Do you offer bathroom design as part of the fitting service?2026-07-17T09:08:09+00:00

Yes. Design is included as standard. We do not fit what you supply without input on layout and specification, because a bathroom that looks great in a showroom does not always work well in the actual room. We design around your space before anything is ordered.

What is the difference between bathroom fitters and bathroom renovation contractors?2026-07-17T09:09:55+00:00

Bathroom fitters handle the installation of a new suite within the existing layout. Bathroom renovation contractors take on structural changes, service replacements, and layout reconfigurations. We cover both.

How long does a bathroom renovation take?2026-07-01T08:07:45+00:00

A standard bathroom renovation without structural work typically takes two to three weeks. Projects involving structural alterations or a wet room conversion usually take longer, depending on the scope agreed at the quoting stage.

Do I need planning permission for a bathroom renovation?2026-07-01T08:09:13+00:00

Planning permission is rarely required for a bathroom renovation, even where layout changes are involved, as long as the work is internal. Building Regulations approval is required for the plumbing and electrical work, and we manage this as part of the project.

What is included in a full bathroom renovation?2026-07-01T08:09:58+00:00

A full bathroom renovation includes strip-out of the existing room, any structural alterations, first fix plumbing and electrics, waterproofing, tiling, installation of the new suite, flooring, and decoration. We include all of this in one fixed-price quote, with every trade carried out by our own team.

Can you renovate a bathroom in a house you are living in?2026-07-01T08:37:06+00:00

Yes. Most of our bathroom renovations are carried out in occupied homes. We plan the works to minimise disruption and will discuss water and bathroom access arrangements with you before the project starts.
